The usual
When Greg gave me my insulin I asked if he wanted to give me the treatment for the clots. thinking that I could come back when he was less busy although he wasn't terrribly busy then. What I got in return was "I can't do two things at once". Being a little put out at this I answered " I didn't ask you to do do two things at once." Without a word he went into the med room and brought out the salve to apply to the remaining clots. Some lady came down to the dining room not feeling well I guess and he was going on about her knowing not to come when she does not feel well. I suppose there is some thing in the fine print about not coming into the dining room when not feeling well.. You should be there in the flu and cold season. I dont hear anything then about not feeling well. Of course they would have to bring your breakfast up to your room. Something they dont like to do. Kay seemed pretty well yesterday but hungry. Very feeble however when walking.

The Peace is Shattered.
It has been quite pleasant around here but now Greg is back. I have had a problem getting this cautherized place on my nose to stop bleeding. First the doctor, when I left his office, told me I could take the bandage off the next day. That was of course assuming all went well which it usually does in these instances. Working with the other nurses has been good because they are willing to discuss my problem. After all it is my nose and I have lived with it for 93 years. They also know I have to live with it 24 hours a day. At medic time this morning it was one order after another to the people people there for their treatment or pills. Greg is a public relations disaster for this place. People deserve more than being rdered around like cattle. Also I have had to stop bleeding many times over my life and know somthing about it. Even being cautherizeed is not new.
Later
Sitting at the table waiting for lunch like a nest of birds waiting to be fed, Greg walks in, aparently caught up for the moment, and leans over and whispers something in the ear of the lady across from me. When he leaves she tells us that he told her she had no support hose on. She dressed herself so I can see there is no way she doesn't know it. Which she acknowledges. Due to her diabetes and consequently excessive carohydrates she is developing congestive heart failure. Say heart failure and I am sure it would get her attention but for the moment says she feels well and does't tie the swelling of the legs to the real cause of it. She is overweight, uses a wheel chair but can walk. I say nothing because I have had experisnce with people who eat as she does and know how hopeless it is to try to educate. If she asks for my unwanted portion of a piece of cake or other goodie I give it to her. Some doctors say it is easier to cure cancer than obesity. Eating a certain way for 50 or 60 years is almost impossible to change.
Kay was very alert today when I found her walking the hall. They were beginning exercises which she does not participate in so I just took her to her room when I gave her a couple truffles. We stayed together until time to go. She just likes being with me and I with her. Must go now.

Greg
Of course I found out today what the doctor wanted do with the spot on my nose. Read my previous post yesterday about what happened. The nurse today changed my bandage and freely discussed what was going on and what the Dr, wanted. So Greg is just being a pr**k. An arrogant one for sure. Enough of this. Today Tom will return the HP computer because the keyboard is hard to read and the desktop display is off center and I cant see the start button so I can use the mouse. I doubt I will get another. I will stop and see if I can get skype up and running so Loren can send me video of the wedding. Bye.

a most unpeasant LPN
Got to see Kay this afternoon instead of the AM because I and a doctors appt to look at some skin irruptions. They were nothing. But he found a couple objects to remove. They had appeared a couple months ago. Kay was in asleep but dressed. I sat down but she woke and smiled at me. So she seemed normal. I sat beside her and held her hand on and off while she slept on and off. She was still in bed when I left. She waved and smiled as I waved to her.
There is one Nurse (LPN) here is an arrogant SOB. When I started back from the doctor the cauterized place on my nose began to bleed. Not wanting the thing to bleed all night I stopped at the Med room so the nurse (Greg) could contact the doctor in case something could be done before the office closed. When he saw it he said it was not bleeding now. I told him I had just blotted it. He said we would wait and see what happened. I mentioned that the reason I came in was so he could call the doctors office before it closed. Greg said he was going to call. As if had already thought of it. I went to my room to lie down to try to get it to stop. Which it did but started up again with some physical movement. It did stop after dinner . After dinner I went in to see what came about with his contact with the doctor but all I got was the big freeze and he would tell me nothing. He said the bandage would be removed in the AM which is what the doctor said when I left the office. I asked what would we do if removing the bandage made it bleed again. I was thinking that if the clot came with it it would start bleeding again. I wanted to know would I have to go back to the Doctor. He told me if was going to self medicate not to come to him. In other words shut the f**ck up. I guess he seems to think that this doctor information is none of my business. The most unpleasant guy to be around. He apparently thinks he is god.

No trip so see Kay today as I have this cold. Since I went to dinner I seem to have turned the corner and am beginning to feel fairly good. I can usually tell when I am getting over it. Greg the medic in charge can act like a dictator. Today he outdid himself. When he gets caught up with dutes he will come to the medic cart where he can mess with the computer and also watch what is going on in the lunch room. If he sees something he will run over to were it is going on and make a general nuisance himself. First one of the men in the dining room in order to get a chair for the card games after dinner began pulling a chair to the wall 10 or 15 feet behind him. Greg saw him and rushed over screaming that he was not to pull a chair backward. Scaring the poor guy out of his wits. Then in a few minutes a woman wanted to go between me and the table behind me but the tables were too close together so she did not have room to get between me and the lady at the table behind. So it was suggested she take a different round. About this time Greg began rushing over from the pill console screaming again what is the matter. In the meantime I had gotten up and moved the chair completely out of the way so she could get out. Usually there are a number a ways to get out of the area but it takes a little planning in advance to see what will allow the walker or wheel chair to go between which table. Greg is the only LP that takes any interest in what is going on in the dining room because they are too busy doing other things. He does a good job of getting your mediation to you in the med room so you normally don't have to wait like some other LPN's do. I am grateful of that. I don't like to go to the med room and wait for my insulin while the LPN messes with their computer with a room full of people waiting. I still have other things I prefer to do.
