Still experimenting with video

I am still looking for a better or easier to create my posts.  I created a couple with the video from my camera.  I have had a JVC camcorder for several years  but have not used it.  Now with my eyes getting real bad I look for ways to get my information out without typing.  It seems that at this time of night google blogger doesn't seem to work normally and especially the text as I type it.  Because of my eyes I have to do a lot of correcting.  This means i have to do a lot of correcting which means I have to look for the cursor a lot.  I spend a lot of time looking for it. CTRL doesn't find it immediately so it takes a lot of time.  However editing video can take time too.  This short one tonight did not take much time because all I did was record then add some still pictures.  Anything complicated takes time if a decent job is done. Here it is hand held because I don't have a battery and putting it on a tripod requires cables I don't have right now.

NEW VIDEO EMBEDDED

Not a lot to report today.  I went to see Kay.  She was in bed and the place was like a tomb.  No action at all.  So I just stayed with her until I had to leave.  It was so dull even the lady in the next bad was there.  The first time I have seen her on the bed. The caregiver said she did not eat much breakfast but she still didn't eat much of my stuff.  Except for the truffles.  Even the banana was hardly touched.

I spent most the afternoon and evening up to now working an a short  video  of our picture on Pismo Beach.  If I can find the html that will embed it in this upload I will do that now. It is past my bedtime and I am too tired to do a lot to find it on youtube.

Kay walks slwly. See blog

http://seniorobserver.blogspot.com/ Kay was walking the hall today.  I walked her to our  place and gave her one truffle and part of a banana and graham cracker.  I then took her  to the activity room for some exercising.  (me)  /There was no church as there should be on Friday.  The elevator was on  the blink for a second time.  A control problem that got fixed before I left.

A new inexpericenced girl was conducting the exercises and it was not very interesting.  The usual one who does it is experienced and gets the group involved in participating.  After   that I took herback to her room until time to go.  She has walked so very slowly the past two days.  It is sad to watch her.  She did wave to me and smiled when I left.

I have finished making the DVD of us and what happened around 1941.  I have to just quit because every time I want to improve a couple areas I make it worse in 3 or 4 more.  I think any video editors understand what I am talking about.  I will now go to trying to put together a video of some that Bob took with the camera the last time he was down here.  I am way past the time I should have done it.  It will be a good indication of how she looks at the present time although she may have gotten worse by now.

If you want a look at how she walks I put up a 22 second video on my blog  Doyal Gudgel I couldn't remember how to imbed the code besides I could not find it.

Visit to Kay friday 10-25 terribly handicapped woman

At lake Forest Park

I went to see Kay  as usual today.  I found her in the community room awake. Few were in it why I learned later was because they had a bus load on an outing.  I took her to her room because I was too exhausted to do anything .  I was awake part of the night. In the morning I went to Walmart to get a new supply of test strips.  The morning is short between breakfast and lunch when you have to get a shot of insulin at 11:00 AM.  We lay on the bed for a while and then she went to the bathroom.  In a couple minutes she did not come back and I went in to find out why not.  Instead of coming back to her bed she had gone into the adjacent room and was getting into one of those beds.  So I brought her back to to the right bed.  It took an hour to get there so I had less than a hour with her.  Doing what she did today is very common with the people there. Several times lately when I bring Kay into her room some man follows us in which is a little disconcerting.  He is not terribly old and in good shape but all I do is tell him this is not his room and turn him around and he will go out. It looks like there was a prospective resident visiting because when I went back the bus had another two to go back from the facility.   She was terribly handicapped and in a wheel chair with two oxygen bottles.  Her husband was with her and he was using a walker too.  I assume they were at  the Cascade Park Gardens to discuss entry to the facility.   The owner of the place came in at the time I was there and said hello to me.  They may have been having a look at the situation.  The lady seemed more in need of a rest home and not a assisted living facility although her mind seemed sharp.  They may even have rooms there for husband and wives for situations such as this.  I didn't go into that aspect when I was thinking of moving into the Vintage apartments. I thought I could visit her enough from there. I don't know what to do now.  Tomorrow I must look into the situation.  Maybe I could get where she is if they have any rooms available.  I have never seen any couples there although there could be and I just did not see them. I don't believe that though as I have been there too many times for that to happen I am sure.   Tomorrow I must check into the situation. I took some video of the woman who came from Cascade and you can see it here. For privacy I have blurred her face.  Her husband was at the back of the bus.  Folks there is another world out there you know nothing of.  I have nothing but compassion for these people. Just remember you may be headed for a similar experience.  There are people at Cascade who are no more than 30 or 35 years old. they have a lifetime ahead of them in wheel chairs.
