Lots going on

Dianne gave her the red suit at Christmas

A lot has happened the past two days. Too much for me to go over right now as it is 11:05, and when I go to bed at 12 the next day I am tired all day.

We went and discussed Kay's loss of weight but they claim now that she has not lost weight according to their records.  This will have to remain unresolved but the fact is every time we take her out she eats like she is hungry.  Yesterday Tom took us out to Tacoma Mall after meeting with the social worker and person at the Cascade Gardens where Kay stays.  We got her a milk shake there and she drank it all.  I used to buy her a milkshake when we went to Fred Meyer in Covington and she ever ate more than a third or perhaps one half.  Today on my trip there I let her eat 4 truffles over a period of time of about an hour.  Plus a couple Graham Crackers.

I am going to send my 73 wedding anniversary video to as many as I can think of.  I have a benefactor in the form of Shirley who is financing the  project.  She has insisted on doing this.  If you think you would like one please contact me as you may  not be on my list.  This shows the value of taking pictures over a life time.  There are many instances of course where in the video a more appropriate picture might fit the music but  after all these are just snapshots or family video done over the years.  Of course 50 or 60 years ago I was not thinking I was going to make a video 60 years down the road.  After all there was no video that long ago.  Do you people realize that my life span has extended from the horse and buggy days to this digital age?  Back in Oklahoma we actually used a team of horses and wagon to go places.

When everything is considered I don't have available some of the pictures I  have had over the years.  I think I still have them in my possessions somewhere but they are so dispersed I don't know where they are or if they are lost.

Kay was in pretty good shape today and I was there about an hour and a half.  They are thinking of moving her to the first floor  for better supervision.  She has become more combative.  I remember some years ago a neighbor who was taking care of his wife with dementia and he said her outbursts of rage was hard to take.  In Kay's case she cant remember which is her room or which is even her bed at times.  So if she goes to bed in someone elses bed there can be an argument of course.  Kay does not realize she is in the wrong bed. When we are resting on her bed watching TV there is a constant stream of people opening her door looking in who do not belong there.  This is common with a lot of people.  They are trying to medicate her to downgrade her combativeness.  I sure do not want her to be like some of the zombies sleeping all the time.  Lately I have not found her in another room.  But this part of her brain seems to have suffered somehow. But as I said lately I have not found her in the wrong bed or room.  It's amazing how these things develop.

Today I went to the eye doctor.  I need an official note that I am officially blind.  This guy could have done this without a complete eye examination but there is not as much money in just readind an eye chart as there is in a complete examination. He said he could without question remove my cataracts without me going blind like two other doctors have said.  He was very firm on this but on the othr hand the people who said I would go blind cant be discounted.  This is serious.  The cataracts are affecting my eyesight the most and it would help to have them out. But as I have at least some time before I cant navigate at all I am inclined to wait.  My glaucoma may make me blind before the cataracts do so in that case having the cataracts out may not be a factor.
