Transportation to Cascade Gardens was excellent today. Kay was in the community room with just two or three others. Nothing was going on except for the TV. I took her to the hall with the chairs and gave her the usual treats. Then on to her bed where we killed some time until she seemed to become bored or maybe too hot in the clothes she had on. so Went to the dining room next door which also doubles as a room for other events when not in use for it intended purpose. We listened to the Caregiver read some historical traditions of Christmas. There is some participation by some of the residents. Kay is unable to participate. When it was time to go I got up to go to the bedroom and get mt coat and Kay got up to go with me. I managed to get her to sit back down while I went to get it alone. There was the questioning look on her face indicating she didn't really know what to do. I managed to get her to sit down and went and got the coat. Then it was the problem of how to leave. I came back in the room and tried to tell her I was leaving but she got up again not knowing whether she was to go with me or not. However I managed to get her to sit down and I bid her good bye. When I told her I would be back tomorrow she asked if I was sure. What a bummer. It is easier to leave from her room where I can tell her goodbye and she seems to be in an enviorment that she accepts my leaving. This was a strange situation for her today.
