Thursday visit

Todays visit was uneventful.  She was in her bedroom sleeping but not very soundly if at all.  When  I eased my self down on the bed she opened her eyes and smiled.   She seemed somewhat lethargic but I took her to the hall with the iron furniture and gave her a couple truffles and a graham cracker.  Took some pictures then went back to her bedroom and got a jigsaw puzzle which she had no interest in trying to put it together.   Soon we went back to the bdroom and  watched the Arts channel until time to go.  On leaving I gave her another truffle.  She waved to me accepting my leaving. There were three people in the lobby visiting their husband or father.   This was his second day there and we had a little talk about living at this age with the costs of living.  He had been in another facility which cost them 10,000 dollars a month. We talked about how if you live long enough you will die broke.  Also  what if everyone lived to be 90 like I am. So called health care is obscene.  Just hope you dont have to live with a lingering illness at the end.  This guy I am talking about above thought before he got this way that he was well fixed.  He obviously had a good Job at Warehouser but it wasn't good enough for lingering dementia.

This evening.  Every evening it is the same if I am sitting here playing with the computer.  Lonely.  Or is it a feeling created in the back of my mind of the hopelessness of the situation? Maybe that is what the loneleness is or maybe a combination?  Remember folks.  We all have this to meet if we live long enough.  Have a nice day.
