I had laid out some dry cream of wheat to cook when Kay got up. When she got up I was busying myself and knocked the custard cup holding the cereal off onto the floor. As I was trying to do toast, cereal, and what ever I asked her to sweep the floor. I had to show her where the broom was as she was looking in the refrigerator and other bad places for it. Then when she finally did sweep the floor with the cereal she swept it against the wall in a corner but the could not figure out what else to do with it then. The most simple things are beyond her capabilities. However this condition has been with her for some time. So I don't know if it is much worse or not. She seemed to handle a phone call from Shirley pretty well however. The Times had an article yesterday or before about a guy who killed his wife who had dementia. He was my age and had similar circumstances that I have had. Married about 70 years, met his wife and married as a teenager. Everything about the same. However she was much worse. Totally helpless. He could not handle it any longer and killed her. I could never do that to Kay. It would be terrible but I could never do what that guy did.
