You soon learn not to let one with dementia try their skills in the kitchen. Yesterday late in the afternoon I went grocery shopping. Kay decided she would help with dinner. What she had done was break apart an ear of corn as was cooking it in a small pan of water where I always pressure cook it. She had also cooked a couple strips of bacon and put them on a piece of bread and butter. I had to really do my dinner I had planned and disregard her work except for eating the corn. But keeping dementia sufferers out of the kitchen is one thing you learn early.
The past few days her bouts of extreme pain in her back seems to have been fewer and fewer and i hope will eventually diminish all-together.
Take a look at Bills war. His widow created a story of his service with the 39th FA in WW2. Find it at Four years in the 3rd Inf in WW2
