Kay is fairly calm the past few days.

Kay has been quite calm the past few days.  She has been sleeping a lot.  I try to get her out of the apartment   every day. We sit in the  Fred Meyer deli and watch the people come and go.  She likes to do that.  Yesterday she was getting dressed and put a black and a white sock on.  Somehow she couldn't figure out what to do about it so I had to find the right pair.  Dementia sufferers have the problem of putting their thoughts into action.  Like they might want to say something and not be able to get it to come out.  In that case when I know this is happening I try to anticipate what it is and help her out.  So far her major problem is remembering things.  But she can learn something if she does it a lot and it has a major effect on her.  Like she has had the problem in the past of putting too much paper in the toilet and it runs over. The past week     she has taken the basket I give her for the tissue paper and she has picked it up and put it in the basket then into the trash.  It is a real accomplishment I think. She really got upset the couple times she ran the toilet over by putting too much paper in it.  Just now she came in and tried to tell me something but could not get it all out. She tried to tell me she closed the door.  But I asked her to show me and then I figured she was trying to tell me she closed the door and opened the window which we do when we go to bed.  She can do it but not tell me.  Enough for today. I am tired at night and do not do a good job.  If I can get on the computer in the morning when I am in the mood to write it is better.
