One thing I have noticed is that retired bureaucrats remain loyal to bureaucrats. Where there is overwhelming evidence of widespread corruption x bureaucrats express loyalty to their kind no matter what. Where the ordinary citizen may express disgust towards politicians for their greed x politicians continue to express belief in the innate goodness of politicians. Maybe my outlook harks back to my stint in the Army in and after WW2 where I had been apparently up for promotion to Sgt but the Company Commander, a West Point grad, came to my room and told me that to be a seargeant you have to be a soldier and you are not a soldier. That outlook may have come down to this day towards politicians.
Have a nice day
