New years party for Seniors and Handicapped

Contrary to our normal way on New Years eve of just going to bed about ten Kay and I went to an eve party organized by Kathy the young (compared to us) girl who comes to the Tuesday Bible reading session.  Almost everyone there was sick with something from old age related or other maladies. What struck me was the ignorance they had of their condition and the trust they had with their doctor to do something for them.  Most doctors do that but some let the money get in the way of what is best for the patient.
Einstein, I think it was. said.  "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result."

In the group was a fairly young woman with her lower leg is some sort of cast.  I asked what was wrong with and she said she had a toe infection.  I immediately asked if  she was diabetic.  She said yes.  This shows that what ever the doctor was doing was not working. You don't have to be a doctor to know that these things happen because of lack of blood circulation  to the feet.  Then it becomes infected because of lack circulation  then you get gangrene then they cut off the toe. The problems resurfaces in the end of the foot where the circulation is still bad where the same condition can exist and so on until they get to the hip.  However you might be dead before then of course.

Circulation of course  depends upon good healthy blood. Blood loaded with glucose is not healthy.  Too high a b/g results in poor circulation  because the vessels get plugged up with too much glucose.  This is a layman's
way of describing it but true none the less.  Sort of like the days you made home made ice cream and you put the excess ice cream in the freezer where the sugar settled to the bottom in a couple weeks. This is a layman's way of describing what is happening but it is clear that what has to be done is improve the blood supply. Reduce the glucose.  These things don't happen to young healthy people. If there is an infection to a cut they treat it and then  they, in normal circumstances, get over it.

It's apparent that this woman's doctor has not improved her diabetes. He is doing the same old thing hoping for a different result.

These things being done to people really make me sad.  Sad because something could have been done about it.  Now I am not so sure.  It wouldn't hurt for her to get Dr. Richard Bernstein's book "Diabetes Solution" which shows how to normalize b/g,  and follow his recommendations for normalizing b/g. Strangely though many people are so enamoured with some guy with a Dr. in front of his name they cant see that the doctor is killing them.

I am going to offer the book to her but I don't expect anything to come of it.  My uncle Virgil went through this many years ago.  Before I knew anything about diabetes. But I will still feel bad watching her slowly die when she might do something about her condition.
