Analyzing WW2 Documentaries Part 2

In the first WW2 documentary I promised to analyze other documentaries.  In the 50's   one of the most popular documentaries was Victory at Sea.   I have this series so I just indiscriminately picked out one  episode named "The Mariana's Turkey Shoot"  First battle was the retaking of Guam.  When the Japanese attacked Guam the documentary showed American soldiers bodies floating in the surf.  The problem with this  scene is that this scene has been previously shown as being in another battle.  I believe it was supposedly to have been done in New Britain.   I am beginning to think people who made WW2 documentaries made no  effort to select scenes that applied to the battle the film was supposed to be about.. Just get the most violent film and insert it.  But this is just the beginning and not nearly the most outrageous.   A little further on when the Americans were shown recapturing Guam the pictures show the civilians jumping off a cliff.  But in other film's it is claimed this scene was taken on Saipan.  But the really most outrageous of all was a little later in the The Mariana's Turkey Shoot, remember in the previous post I said some documentary makers put a camera outside on the wing?  Well,  Victory at Sea does this.  You will have scenes with the camera outside the airplane.  Some are outside showing the blazing guns just off to the side.  You don't have to go very far into the  film to realize that nothing about this film is true.  Just more brainwashing about the Greatest Generation. This is no small thing when you realize that 415 Americans were killed EVERY DAY  for 1000 days in WW2.  That was History Channel's figure.  Almost twice as high as other casualty figures I have seen.  Total casualties would come to almost 1000 a day for 1000 days according to History Channel's figures.  Now that is a lot of people being killed.  Is there other lies we are being told about WW2?  Maybe we were the Greatest Generation of suckers?  Maybe WW2 wasn't the "Good War" after all. 415,000 Americans would have been able to live and not have their life cut short by a politician who wanted to make a name for himself.
