Hair cut and pictures

 Kay was in her room the caregiver said.  I went in and had the caregiver to check her over.  Soon the caregiver came back and said they wanted her down stairs to ger her hair cut.  After getting it cut we went to the second floor entrance and sat for a while and watched the people come and go.  Then back to her room.  She walking very slowly today.  I didn't walk her any more than usual so I am not doing very well in increasing her strength so far.  Here are some new  pictures of us.  Taken today.

Pictures are not very good.  I could not see well enough to set the flast to work.  

Too soon old, too late smart.

One of the biggest mistakes I made in my photographic career was to take lots of scenic pictures. I like scenery. I like to look at nature. Taking pictures these days is not like taking pictures when you had to lug an 8x10 wet plate camera and all it's associated equipment to places no one had seen before. It's hard to find scenery unique and different that would raise interest in anyone. I have a great scenery picture on my computer room wall but no doubt it has been taken literally a million times before. So scenery is great but only a few will you want to spend any time looking at in 30 or 40 years. That was my big mistake. Now my regret is that I didn't put someone in the picture. Then the picture would have meaning. So now I wish had not taken all those pictures. Even then after processing I would look at them for a few seconds but then on other things. But I did have fun taking them hoping to see something I would love 30 years down the road. I would have loved people better. Especially Kay and the kids.

Editing family pictures officially ends.

Yesterday I went over the stack of DVD's I have hanging around and sorted them into stacks for each child and for me.  As soon as I can I intend to give them out and am done with trying to organize something I have been working on for a couple years.  I could work on them for another 88 years but I am tired of it. A few months ago one of my backup drives crashed and I lost the thousands on it. I may have them backed up in other locations but things are in such a mess I am not sure where they would be. I will be working on creating movies from the movie collection which I transferred from Video tape to DVD,.  I had previously transferred what film I had to Video tape.  Some of the 8mm was particularly bad as even when I transferred it it was old and faded. On the other hand that may be a long time in coming. 


I decided to put some dvd's back on Picasa in the laptop.  It was still trying to scan the faces 24 hours after it started.  Later in the day it was working on 65,000 faces  so there are a lot of pictures on my backup hard drive.  one of four on the two computers.  That includes many duplicates and pictures with crowds of people in the picture.  I messed up by importing several thousand pictures into my face id group which were not my picture so the best way to get out of this mess is to remove everything and start over.
