Visit , bureaucracy and the truth

To bypass the account of todays visit go to the search window and enter  pierce, county, or transit.

Good visit with Kay today.  I got there before she finished eating lunch.  She was the last one eating. She always has been. I tasted a green bean and it had no salt.  I specifically asked them to season her food as the drab tasteless food would make any one retch.  Fortunately  I ran  into the cook coming to work and asked him to take care of it which he said he would.  She had been losing weight and she was not eating. When they took her off puree food she started picking up a little weight.  But the lack of salt made the food essentially inedible.  There is no reason to give these people no or low salt because adequate surveys have  pointed out low salt adds nothing to your life span.  The people in this kind of insitution don't have high blood pressure they  have dementia. Low salt does nothing for dementia.  Just proves that what you are told by managers of these places is usually just what happens to come into their mind and may have noting to do with the truth.  Most people do not have enough contact with their relatives and have no way of knowing what is going on.  I am there every day and see what is going on.  Mostly what patients get is about as good as you could expect.  But a long way from what would be if practice was equal to the front presented to visiting relatives. I don't think it is possible for anyone to be in constant contact with sick people year after year and not get calloused towards the people they take care of. These emotions are not humanly possible.   The "Caregivers" are trained to present a certain front to  relatives of the patients to calm them and assure them that their loved ones are getting the best possible care.     To me it seems quite obvious from the sweet syrupy front presented to relatives when visiting. This business with Kay's food is proof enough to me. If they meant what they tell me they would have done what they promised they would do for Kay.

Pierce County Transit.

I get there to see Kay via Pierce County Transit Shuttle for the Handicapped.  Anyone can ride them if they have no  other transportation. Today it took me one and a half hours to get the 5.6 miles from Kay's facility to where I live.  If I could walk I could walk that distance in less time than it took me today by shuttle.  This is all too common. When you get a time for pick up they also tell you there is a half hour window.  Of course if you call in because it may be near the half hour after the pickup time they say there is a half hour window.  Today I found that I got left out because I was what the driver calls a "drop in" He was told to pick me up during his trip.  I was not on his preplaned list. Before the bus came I called the dispatcher to get an ETA.  I was told it should be there any minute.  Fifteen minutes later it still had not arrived. This is 45 minutes past the pick up time of 3:15.  Remember  I take this trip every day so it is not new to them.  Besides you have to request a ride two days in advance if you request a new ride not on your schedule as mine is every day. After I got on the bus I asked the driver why he was so late.  He told me I was a dropin.   I asked him when he got the order?  He said about 10 minutes ago. This meant that the last time I talked to the dispatcher he had not yet been told to pick me up.  This also means that the dispatcher flat out lied to me.  This also means that the lying doesn't just exist   with the president and his advisers but also with everyone down the bureaucratic  food chain.

There will be daily updates not only about my visits but how well and honest the dispatchers are with me.
