Kqy gets shower
It's amazing how like a little baby you become when you get old. Especially with dementia. I went to see Kay today as usual and had pretty good visit. I found her in the activity room and brought her to her room to give her the usual truffles and today part of a banana that I had. All this pretty normal. We went to the hall with the iron furniture and sat for a while. We returned to her room and watched the Arts channel for a while until the aid came in and said after she gave another lady a shower she would give Kay one During the other lady's shower and clean up I could hear some objection to what was going on but not a real lot. When they were finished with her Kay was next. I had heard that Kay had objections from time to time but I did not know what that amounted to. Today found out. I left the care givers to do the job but when I heard Kay objecting loudly I went in to see what was going on. She had no clothes on and they were trying to get her to step into the tub so they could turn on the hand held shower head. As she was not complying I tried to get her to get the other leg in the tub so they could put the shower on her ad wash off the soap lather. I got her to put her leg into the tub but then she tried to get the other one out. After a fashion they/we got her soap lather rinsed off and they then got her into her clothes. Which she really needed. In spite of the claims of the Personnel administrator there she looked so thin and frail that I believe she is losing weight. She really looks frail and weak when I get her up from a chair or bed. I can put my hand around her rib cage and it seems to not have any fat at all on it. She always eats things that I bring today it was banana and truffles. tomorrow I am going to try to bring in a roll or other food I can get from our dining room. Perfectly ok as it is common for people to bring stuff to their room to eat between meals. After the caregivers dressed her I took her back to the activity room and there were a couple women
painting fingernails. Kay willingly sat at the table and allowed her to paint her fingernails. It was time to go home so I kissed her goodbye and told her I would be back tomorrow. As she was involved with the painting she didn't react hardly at all when I told her I was leaving
