New transit time.

I've changed my pickup time from  9 am to 8 30.  There were a lot of busses arriving at 9 which made my trip get put back to much later.  So far that has worked well but it makes it hard to get all things ready before that time.  Breakfast is at 8 so there is only a few minutes to get breakfast and be ready to go.  Mainly they don't always get the breakfast out in time to eat and finish the things necessary to be ready in case the bus is on time.  I am going to try an 8:45 pickup and see if that works ok.  Kay was in the dining room so I took her to where we get the treats.  As this is close to breakfast she has not been very hungry that early.  Yesterday she actually ate only part of a truffle.  It might have been the second one though.  However you can get tired of truffles.  We  tried a few minutes in the public area on the first floor for a while then back to her room for the remainder of my stay.    She seems to keep getting slower and slower but her mind seems to be about the same in other areas.  I don't know what to think.

Come back tomorrow.

Kay was glad to see me

Kay seemed fine today.  She was being taken to be checked over so when it was finished I took her for her usual expected treats.  Today she ate a couple plus most of a banana and part of graham cracker.  The caregiver said she at breakfast but most times she does not eat much.  That is why she eats something when I get there.  She does not seem to be losing any weight however.  This is so regular I should try to take something  more nutritious than just banana or cracker.  The care giver commented that I didn't come on her birthday.. So I told him that Tom had gotten sick suddenly and I had no way
to get there.  I told him I didn't think she knew it was her birthday.  But he said he thought she did.  I  would probably have considered taking a cab over to see her if I had known she missed me.  He said she was acting differently, I forget the word he used.  It didn't look like there would be any  activity today because the chairs and tables had not been moved out of the way so I assumed no activity.  The usual woman who leads the discussions and exercises  is temporarily working in the kitchen for about a week.  I should tell them she is the best one to lead the group.  She really gets them involved.  Sometimes it is a  a very young inexperienced person or an other one who goes by the record that gives the exercises.  The older lady who leads uses a record and goes on too long.  The young girl is totally at a loss about what to do.  So I probably didn't miss much today.  We stayed in Kays room and also catch up on my rest as I am writing this at just past eleven.  I should be in bed.  She seems to like being with me.
Taken today.

Good and bad trips

Going and coming was good and bad.  It took an hour to get back home  but at least  I saw some of Tacoma I had never seen before.  In planning their schedules it seems like how long a rider has been on the bus is of no concern.  They could have just as easily taken me home then picked up the others  but for some reason they picked them up first although the distance was just a few blocks to take me home. As a result I was on the bus
about an hour.

You see a world of people riding the shuttle you seldom see elsewhere.  You do see an occasional person in wheel chair or blind.  But on the shuttle you recognize the huge problem there is.  It is sad to see young people in wheel chairs or blind.  Today they picked up three, one was a pretty young girl in a wheel chair.  Dressed well with long hair  neatly combed.  Looks like to me she was about 20 to 25. Her mind was obviously good. Just paralyzed for some reason.

Kay was on her bed again today and when I sat down in a chair next to the bed she looked at me but didn't smile as she has been doing up to the past two days.  After a while we got up and took a walk then we went out on the patie as the caregiver obligingly  carried out the chairs for us to sit on.  We watched the traffic then as it was little breezy and cool in the shade we went in until time to go. She seems a little slower mentally.  She seems to get more normal the longer I stay.
