Exciting trip outside

Excellent visit with Kay today.  She had walked down with other patients to be outside in the yard when we saw her.  We took her to McDonalds and got her a cinnamon bun.  She seemed to want me to feed her.  I don't know from this is she can feed herself in the dining room.  I will call ASAP and find out.  I think she can.  Tom came to give me my weekly orders of groceries and other supplies.  Getting her turned around on her walker seems to confuse her about what she is supposed to do.  You try to turn her and get her going in a different   doesn't seem to register.  But we did get her in the truck and to MacDonalds where I gave her a cinnamon bun.  then she seemed to want me to feed her.  Now I must check with her facility and see if she feeds herself.  I think she can if she has to.  I just melted 4 keys off this keyboard so I must be very careful to hit it properly.  I am a lousy typist besides poor eyesight.  Good thing because it makes me  hit the keys properly.  I dropped a hot bulb on the keyboard.  She ate quite a bit of the bun.  She seemed to enjoy getting out.  They dont seem to lose their desire to get out. It is so confining inside.

Tom and I went to a local beauty school and arranged for them to make her up one more time so she will look beautiful for my birthday.

New day no visit to see Kay

Up this morning feeling much improved.  I was so sick or tired last night, after dinner that a friend of mine who saw me had me go to the med room and have the "nurse" (LPN) check me over and I was so tired or sick I went along.  After a short discussion he agreed with me I should go to bed and get some rest for reassessment in the morning.  As this was not on the regular prescribed chain of events the morning crew would know nothing about it.  For instance if I wanted a sleeping pill I could not get one because  it had not been prescribed by the Doctor.  Of course the doctor would ok a sleeping pill but as it had not already been done they would have to contact the doctor for a prescription then get one from the Pharmacy off somewhere who knows.  So if you want a sleeping pill you might get one days later.  What they need is a pharmacy in the building stocked with over the counter meds that could be given right away.

When I got up this morning I fell almost normal.  They only thing not right is I am weak. So I decided to cancel my trip to see Kay to resume tomorrow I hope.  If I stay away too long she stops eating  it seems. I didn't do a report yesterday and this will  have to do for today and tomorrow.  My phlegm  has loosened so my cough has stopped.  Hopefully a little exercise will give me strength.

Yesterday the third was my sister Flora Nell's birthday   tomorrow the 5th will be Ruth my sister in law's birthday.  She was married to Loyal.  The dates could be reversed as I never learned for sure.

Kay is 90 today. No gifts please!!!

I had made breakfast for Kay and she was standing in the doorway to the kitchen so I decided to go over and tell her she was 90 today.  This really seemed to get her attention.  Then she began asking me how long we would live.  This went on for quite some time which happens when something really makes an impression. So I had to spend quite some time trying to answer the question no one can answer. Of course nothing I could say  could she comprehend.  These situations are somewhat unsettling because I hate to  have her upset.  Even after she went to bed for a nap and I went in to open the blinds so she could look out the window she never seems to think of this herself she was still thinking of being 90. Getting older before she got this way didn't seem to bother her too much. Maybe I just didn't realize it--------------------------------------------------------------------------
