Going to see Kay was quick but very slow returning. I found Kay on her bed and I took her to the truffle spot. One truffle then we were going to go outside but the Caregiver told us there was a mothers day social on the second floor. So I took Kay there for a while. They served an icecream desert then brought out Tea and then special crackers with special luncheon mix of some kind. I selected Jasmine tea but found I don't like it very much. Kay drank most of her's however. After a while Kay indicate she wanted to leave so I took her outside to sit in the sun. But she needed attention by the Caregiver so I took her up to her room. When the Caregiver brought her back she put some old time for bed clothes on her telling me she thought Kay looked tired and wanted to sleep. As this was before 3 pm it didn't seem right to me and when caregiver left and Kay started putting on her shoes I decided even though it was close to time for me to leave I would change her into something she could mix with other people in. I picked out a pair of blue pants but when she got them on they were obviously not hers as they were way too big. In spite of it being close to the time to leave I looked in the closet and found a pair that would fit and put them on her. With that I started out with the walker but she also wanted to go and as I sometimes do I took her to the elevator and expected to leave her there. Usually she takes it fairly well but today she didn't want to release her hold on the walker and wanted to go in the elveator with me expecting to go with me. This is when it is hard for me when she expects to go with me and I have to force her to stay. The Caregiver took her and pulled her back from the elevator and I went on my way home. My concern about getting to the shuttle was wasted because it did not get there until 45 minutes after the pick up time of 3:15.
At home I had promised the people at my table last night that I would provide some corn on the cob tonight because Tom and brought me several. Peggy filled me in on how to cook corn in the Microwave. I managed to take four pieces down which was enough for us at the table. Everyone seemed to like them. The old black lady especially. We never get anything like this. There is not a big enough kitchen to do serious cooking for over 100 people. What they can get from Food services of America is the main source of food for this place. Mostly tasteless low salt.
