Kay eats well

I felt poorly today which is just part of feeling under the weather yesterday.  This may be abbreviated because I don't want to stress myself.  I believe if you are sick go to bed get over it. But I got some good news and I want to share it with you.  As I told you Kay has lost 16 pounds since she  went in Cascade Gardens.  I have maintained all along that she is just not  eating. She is not eating because of the food. You just do  not  want to eat it.  It is just institution food and most of the time you don't want to eat.  There is not one overweight patient there at least after they have been there a while who is still overweight.  But the people who run it seem to think that a low salt low flavor food is good for you.  In spite of the recent  CDC survey of 40,000  that proves you don't live a day longer on a low salt diet. There  must have been some skepticism when I said when I take her out like to Old  Country Buffet she eats a good meal.  Tom and Peg were going to bring her to my place for a meal with me here  and  get introduced to other people who have heard about her.    She isn't particularly fond of chowder or potato soup but would eat it when I bought it home from Fred Meyer.   Peggy said Kay ate the entire bowl of potato soup. You can ask people in these places who work there that it is common for people to just stop eating and die.
Do they die because they don't want to eat or is just like Kay here that they feed food people don't want to eat. I think it is totally unjust to starve people in rest home because some dieticison thinks that is what they should eat.  That fewer mouths to feed. It's my bet that the other people in Kay's place are also hungry most of the time for the same reason. Remember she can not tell them she is hungry.  Enough for today but I will add some pictures that Tom took when with her later when I get them.
