92nd Birthday

One of the caregivers passed me on the way in and said she saw Kay a half hour ago walking the hall smiling and seemingly having a good time.  I found her in bed by the time I got there but not asleep.  I got her to our special place and gave her the two truffles plus at least 3 graham crackers plus  one soda cracker.  So she was hungry.  Eventually we went back to her room where I stayed with her.  Instead of leaving her at 2 20 to wait for the shuttle I told the head nurse to watch for the driver while I stayed with her during the time the shuttle is late for pick up.  It was nearly three I took her back to the community room to leave her and go wait the final minutes for the shuttle.  It is heart breaking to leave when she does not want me to go.  Today she did not want me to go.  I had to break of the meeting in spite of her wishes and leave. All  I could do was keep telling her I would be back tomorrow and walk away.  In her room it might be easier. So tonight I really feel bad because I had to leave her when se did not want me to go. I just wish other family members could fill in when I am not  there.Below, her 92nd birthday.  Who would have thunk it.
