It is hilarious how this outfit Weidner Apartment Homes does their public relations with their renters. This outfit has about 350.000 apartments but makes a pretense of making sure the renter is happy with their living in the apartment. Now as this outfit is a billion dollar organization and has been in the business for years and has over 300,000 people renting from them you would think they know what it takes for a renter to be happy. Yesterday I made a request to the office for an ant trap as I saw some tiny red ants. Sure enough on the way to work the two maintenance guys who I know for several years stopped by and gave me the trap. Later in the day I got a call from the office to find out if I got the traps. To me this is not improving customer relations it is checking up on their workers. They didn't thrust their employees enough to do the job but made a call to make sure. They could not wait for me to call back if I didn't get it which would have been the right way to handle the situation. Employeewise too. I cant imagine how it is for someone working for them to be under total spying on their work. If they are not trusted they should get someone they do trust This outfit really want so computerize everything so some bigshot at HQ can push a mouse and see how the organization is doing. In the meantime we who rent have a real bad taste for how this place is run. In an earlier need for minor service they sent me an email to check on their employee to see if it was done. Well I dont want an email from Weidner for any reason. I get enough emails. Here is another instance of crappy customer relations. When a renter had rented for years paying the rent isn't a major event in their life. It has to be done but with other things. But with this outfit if you forget for a day. Just one day they start eviction proceedings the day it is past due. No matter how long you have paid rent. They don't think apparently that you just forgot and make a phone call to you remind you that it is due. They post on your door a piece of paper telling you that this is the first step in evicting you in case you don 't pay the rent. For someone who has rented for years this new approach to getting their rent check sure is galling. The result is their renters could care less about Weidner and it is no longer an apartment home it is just an apartment and who cares about the outfit that owns it. One of the women in the office quit because it had become like it is. She quit because she didn't have to have the job as her husband was retired military and had an adequate income. Also if she got tired of doing nothing she could look for another job to keep busy. It sure has changed though from before. It is apparent that the owner is trying to computerize it so much obviously to reduce operating costs. That is understandable because with this huge outfit keeping track of fraud and theft is a big job. But it is a pain to have this outfit make a pretense of being interested in you as a person. What a laugh. All this stuff about keeping renters happy is just to keep an eye on their employees. If they don't trust their employees maybe I shouldn't trust them either.
