Kay couldn't care less
See update on Kay's doctor's visit at end of page;
Kay wandered into the computer room this afternoon and seemed pretty bored. I asked her a couple questions and she just said she knew nothing. Meaning she couldn't think. I asked her what she wanted to do, She said she would like to go somewhere. I've been needing a haircut so figured this would be a good time for us to go get a haircut. She had on a knit heavy sweater which is not unusual because she gets cold easily. So I told her we would go get a haircut at the Indian Barber Shop. We went to the shop and when the chair became available I started to take the knit sweater off but she had nothing on under it! Well, the barber rolled down her collar and put a cover over her front to make her decent and cut her hair. The longer she has dementia the less she cares what she wears. I have to make sure she changes to a night gown or she will go to bed in her street clothes. This is common with people with dementia. Some will put layer on layer or blouses although Kay has not been doing that a lot lately. Instead of dressing to go out she will just get some clothes on . I have been getting quite a bit of fluids in her by setting out a cup of milk as she likes milk pretty well. We are going to the Dr. on the 22 to see if she is anemic. She has been sleeping a lot in the day time. I've been giving her quite a bit of cream of wheat lately to hopefully make up for her snacks that she eats.
Kay is not anemic. Her potassium is a little elevated so we are going back to the lab for a new blood test. Her kidney GFI was 45 and the doctor said 59 (I think) was normal but the x nurse at the office looked it up on google and she said above 88 was normal. I asked for an a1c test although her Mg/dl was 92. Whatever the Mg/dl is I'd like know what the a1c is anyway. So it will be done next wednesday.
