We used to get up early and read the paper while drinking coffee.  We enjoyed this early time together. As Kay developed her present condition she still sub-consciously still wants this time to relax with a cup of coffee.  However when she does this she develops ear aches from the acid in the coffee.  So I have to keep her from coffee as much as possible What she does is if I have just made coffee she puts more water in the maker and makes it again. As you can figure it is too bad to drink.  Fortunately most of the time she just forgets she poured it and it sits there. On the other hand later she forgot she made this bad cup and makes another one . It's too bad that she is even denied this luxury in her retirement but there isn't much I can do about it.
