Kay seems to continue to improve.

A little fun in the sun

I am talking about her healing from the fracture.  She can go almost all day without exhibiting a lot of pain,  Usually after dinner the pain returns and I have to give he a pain pill.  But this seems much less frequent. Just replacing a roll of toilet paper is also an improvement.  A month or two ago if the toilet paper ran out while she was in the bathroom instead of replacing it she would put either some other kind of paper on the hanger.  I mean just lay it on. Or maybe even get a wash cloth and lay it on the hanger. She could not think of how to go get a roll and put it on.   If I had foreseen this condition coming up and had put out a new roll on the counter she would mount it on the hanger.  So I  had to foresee this coming up and prepare.  However the past week or so she has been able to go to the supply and put it on without any help. This may not seem like much but to me it is huge.  This means she still has the ability to learn.  The condition of dementia harms this ability.  The best indication of this is when you cant remember a word.  You cant think of it.  Not being able to perform an       action is also the same thing.  Last night she saw something she could not describe to me although it was in her mind but just could not express it.  But the toilet paper incident to me is amazing.  One thing I attribute it to and I may be a 100 percent wrong is that I don't drug her with these pills to improve Alzheimer's which doctors will admit dont work  off the record..

Take a look at Bills war. His widow created a story of his service with the 39th FA in WW2. Find it at Four years in the 3rd Inf in WW2i
